Two characters find themselves boxed in, drawn-out, a little bit lost and confused...
Elbow Room is a pilot project that explores the theme of mental wellbeing. This stylised performance was formed and inspired by interviews with young adults in the Cornish Community; their words, stories and thoughts were integrated into the movement, text and aesthetics of the show. Elbow Room investigated the theme of mental wellbeing and isolation but with a light touch; by using play, humour, song and movement.
Elbow Room follows two female characters, working in an 'emotional warehouse', as they sort through boxes of different feelings, thoughts and experiences. Exploring themes of friendship, isolation, coping, conflict and acceptance.
Elbow Room is in collaboration with charity Cornwall Mind and is supported by Arts Council England, FEAST, Cornwall Council, Mind Cornwall and Cultivator.
